Rosporden is THE ideal nature destination: gateway to the Voie Verte (walking and cycling path), 3 ponds with a rich biodiversity, river banks fitted out for fishing…
As a small town, everything is accessible within walking distance in Rosporden. From the train station you can easily reach the campsite, the ponds, the Voie Verte, restaurants and shops.
The “City of ponds” is located in the very heart of Cornouaille, between Concarneau and Quimper and is easily accessible by train or by bus.
The three ponds form a path of 2,5 km. A two hours walk to discover the typical fauna and flora of the wetlands.
The banks are fitted out and conducive to a “Fishing” halt for aficionados and beginners (a valid fishing cart is mandatory and can be bought in our Tourist Information offices).
For water sports lovers, the ponds offer an ideal spot for kayaking or stand-up paddle. The Rozanduc sports space has also a lot to offer with its swimming pool, tennis courts and football fields.
Starting from Concarneau, the Voie Verte N°7 connects the Channel to the Atlantic Ocean (105km) via Rosporden. This hike on the former railway line of the breton rail network is ideal for walks or bike rambles.
A real immersion in the nature
Ride along the water: what a pleasure!
A path dedicated to the writer Pierre Loti recounts his several visits of the city. Renowned french author, he came several times in Rosporden to visit his best friend and got inspired by the Breton lifestyle. Based on his memories, he wrote the novel “My Brother Yves” in 1883.
